The ending was highly unexpected. I couldn't help but laugh. I was highly invested too; you had me all engaged and rooting for the diver to take in more phenomenal sights, and then bam!

I love your descriptions, and this line stopped me: "his descent continued to the depths of hope." I had to take a moment to think after reading that one. The depths of despair I am used to reading about, but the depths of hope, that sounds like such a wonderful place that you constructed for your diver. If one is to aim to get to the depths of something it should definitely be those of hope.

You painted a beautiful picture and topped it off with a pretty hilarious ending, all in 100 words.

It makes a lot of sense that this piece won the contest. It is so deserving.
