A nice poem on hope. It keeps burning even in the midst of chaos and panic. Imagery is both visual and symbolic. This free verse also juxtaposes love with fear, doubt and weakness{of mind).
The trauma of the past makes the poet doubt his present. He tortures himself with the puzzle as to the present happiness continues or not. A dangerous dilemma. Faith, I think is greater than all.
Format-
The poem has short and long lines punctured by a single word "However," after the first two lines. It is like a beam on which the whole structure rests holding both sides, the positive and negative on an even keel.

It flows well.

Impressive!
