"A hero is not successful, a hero is significant" I completely agree. Actually, I agree with everything you wrote. The world would be a far better place if everyone (or at least those who shape public opinion) adopted a similar point of view.

I loved the examples that you gave. I didn't expect you to mention a "five year old who already knows who he wants to be" or even the teenager. I Kinda thought you'd go for a policeman or a fireman or use any prototypical figure as an example. But you went another direction. Your examples are more real and concrete and they pay tribute to the real heroes, those who often go unrecognized. And the sad thing is that they never really realize how heroic they are.

Your ending reminded me of a lecture I once attended. We were asked: "Where can you find happiness?" People spoke of power, money and fame. And others discussed love. But the lecturer pointed out that the lasting moments of happiness and satisfaction come when you help another human being.

I loved reading this. It's such a nice break from all the negative message that we're constantly bombarded with through the media.
