Hi MFrederick!

Discovery
I'm not sure where I found this piece, but it's been in my draft reviews since August 2nd. I've probably been waiting until I had enough time to emotionally invest myself in your work, and I'm eager to share my thoughts with you.

The temptation
Of course, the title was a huge draw. I often think about the collective consciousness, although I usually refer to it as unconscious because we're not always aware of our motivations or what has influenced our behavior and thought patterns. Adding the bunk bed part further piqued my curiosity.

As your thoughts unfold
The true story you began with worked well to introduce the topic. Life is random, and no one can really know why events transpire as they do.

This is a beautifully composed piece with your thoughts well expressed and clear. The examples you used detailing the thinkers of different time eras runs parallel to something I ponder over. Looking at the Renaissance period, why were all those gifted people seemingly dropped into humanity's time line together? It's a mystery.

An excellent example for showing your viewpoint
Some parents who have lost a child may never see your point of view. I've never lost a child, just a sister, way before when 'we' thought she should have. But, I have to say she's still with me and, weird as it sounds, helped me write my first novelette--which included the concept of the conscious unconscious.

My thoughts
Only one point of disagreement. I don't think humanity is evolving in a natural way, one discovery building on the other. We're literally destroying our planet, so what have we really accomplished? Maybe our destiny is to be planet destroyers. That's perhaps a radical view point, but I also believe we're either getting better at fulfilling that destiny, or we're no longer evolving. Maybe we're one of the thousands of species meant to be extinguished.

Wrapping it up
I just want to say thanks for giving me this opportunity to express my viewpoint. Your words were inspirational.
