Dark poem with dark imagery. yet, the poet is able express feelings powerfully. It is not the light kind of romance but an intensely passionate love for the beloved. Imagery- Imagery in this poem is striking. Like the feelings and passions, the images chosen also sting and make an impression on the reader. Words such as thorns, sting, poison, kills, and black hole have served to bring out the bitter-sweet nature of love expressed here. The use of "which" could be taking away the poetic effect of the verses. The last stanza is well written rounding off the emotions of the lover although the simile is a bit puzzling. Love you like a black hole? or is it as timeless as the black hole? Write on!
