I really liked how you used both black and red to alternate your stanzas. I believe it strengthened your words, which were already steady and strong.

I certainly believe animals can sense what humans cannot. They can hear so much better, too. I also believe young children sense things. I often wonder about imaginary friends... Nice work!

I loved the line:
Off into night, towards the day
[I've never really thought about it that way. I like it!]
