Hi, Nocturne. Nixie, here. I found your work highlighted here: "For Authors Newsletter (September 30, 2015)

Overall Impression
I place all the blame on myself, but this complex read was so dense and self-absorbed, I struggled through much of it. When I say self-absorbed it's not with malicious intent--your work is non-fiction. Not to say the work was substandard in any way, rather your words were eloquent and your sentences unique. About halfway through, I began to lose focus and some of the observations seemed repetitive.

A few thoughts
What (I think) I gleaned was that we create ourselves, therefore we are God. Certainly God is created in the image of man.

By the way, I'm not sure why you included food/cooking as one of the categories. As a first category, maybe 'personal' rather than 'other' would be a better fit, and give your work a greater chance to be seen.

At first the unusual punctuation bothered me, but as I read, everything worked together. Punctuation, prose, emotions demonstrated, the intrigue, all added up to a consuming read.

Lasting Impression
Though the work was depressing and alternately insightful, your experiences negative, you persevered and continued on. Somewhere among the words you found the answer. So my final take is that you found inspiration through your mom, which created a poignant conclusion. Maybe as the day progresses, your words will sink in and I'll see another message.

My thoughts are my own to do with as you please.

A most unusual read. Keep writing!
