Hi Elle! This is the second of five reviews I still owe you...

TITLE: I love the title but I read the poem due to the intro of it. I also love the painting, your mother is a very skilled artist, as you are a very skilled poet.

THEME: The theme travels beyond the description of the painting and explores the love between you and your mother and your and your grandmother. Thank you for sharing such an intimate poem with us. Also, thank you for putting in the note at the end.

TONE: The tone is reflecting just as the piece is.

PACE: The pace is also slow and reflecting, allowing the reader to soak in the previous statements before pulling us gently into the next part.

RHYTHM/METER: I love the rhythm of your poem though I can't put my finger on exactly why. It is just plain wonderful. The poem lends itself to being read aloud, which is something I admire in good poetry!

FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE: Your choice in verbiage is as creative and symbolic as your mother's painting, great work!

SPELLING/GRAMMAR: I noted no errors in any of these areas!

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: No need to improve, poetry does not get any better than this!

EXCELLENT WRITING EXAMPLES: Of the whole poem I found the last stanza to be the most profound! The missing colors in the painting to represent your passions!
