I am also judging your item for "The Bard's Hall Contest"  Thank you for entering!

Your story was quite creative and hit the mark beautifully within the horror category. It had a chilling "chase" scene, whereas she was trying to escape the control of those who would kill the life growing inside her. There was much power struggle as the reader settled-in to figure out just what part she played in the supernatural mystery unfolding.

Surprisingly fresh take on good vs evil. As the story unfolds; it introduces more sinister plans affecting the protagonist and her "life" and then the life thereafter, where the true power lies.

Observations:

“I would rather freeze then} [than] witness their banquets again.”

"Again, her wounds ached [as] if to remind her of their strength."

"By all accounts it seemed abandoned."

“Why would you let them roam your forest, harm what you sworn [swore] OR ... you've sworn to protect] you would protect?”

Fine read with vivid imagery!
