I am also judging your item for "The Bard's Hall Contest" Thanks for entering!
I enjoyed the creepiness surrounding the scene of old iron gates at an entrance to a place of final sleep.
I could picture the owl, the nightfall and the gravestones, with words describing a brief piece of one's life, carved upon them for family and visitors to read. Yet, when they describe in a blunt way, the cause of a death -- it makes it all the more creepy. I have seen some pretty weird messages carved in stone grave markers.
Observation:
"The angles hide their face" [angels]
There was no line count included, which lost you some points.
Otherwise, fine rhythm and rhyme, with all the chills that waft in the night air, and spirits whispering from beyond, "Something Horror This Way Comes!"
