Hi there. Nixie, here.

Overall Impression
You've made a genuine effort to help other writers overcome the curse of inaction. We're all tossing around show vs. tell and it's tiresome. 'State of being' and 'helping verbs' sounded brighter and more inclusive than what most of us advise.

A few thoughts
Not all the links still work, but some examples did help. I liked the explanation of the verb choice engineer. The verb only worked because the sentence itself sounded like construction, and for me, that's the prickly part.

The imaginative, strong or unusual verbs only work in context. Learning to write in a clever and engaging manner is something we learn, some faster than others. I seem to remember and forget.

One of the links emphasized sentence restructuring, and that's my usual technique to mix things up.

Lasting Impression
So, even though this topic annoyed me, I read the article and checked all the links. Why? Because you were earnest in your presentation and intent. You're trying to help others by sharing what you've found around the net.

I recently read a few remarks about passive verbs. Someone arguing the point that 'The house is green.' was a passive sentence. They thought it should be more creative, like commenting on how the green blended in with the foliage. But the house is green. That's not a passive sentence.

This discussion could go on forever with my typing out my frustrations. I'm thankful your words afforded me the opportunity to vent. Oops. Not the best way to celebrate an anniversary.

But writing something that compels a reader to think and react is a reason to celebrate. *PartyHatB*
