Hello intuey GoT Survivor!,

my name is Tiggy and I am reviewing your story as a judge for "What a Character! : Official WDC Contest. Thanks for entering! Please bear in mind that my comments and suggestions are only my opinion. Other reviewers might see it differently.

You did an excellent job showing that formative experience and, considering that the narrator was only five at the time, it was clear what she was experiencing and how she understood it. The character was certainly very engaging and the way she dealt with the situation makes the readers care about her plight and root for her. Her conflict would have been terrible for anyone but despite her age, or perhaps because of it, she handled it well. After the initial struggle, she was quite calm and innocent in her reactions, and her choice to go back seemed to be driven by selflessness and love for her family.

I liked the way you led to the conclusion at the end. She learned a lot on her brief journey, and really, she no longer needed to rely on believing because she knew. It also taught her a lot about life and she suddenly found herself feeling older than her five years and understand more than even her parents did.

There wasn’t much dialogue but the conversation between the narrator and her grandfather sounded natural and quite poignant. Especially considering her age, I would have expected more dialogue, for example with the angel. The girl seemed to grasp the situation immediately when perhaps it would make sense for her to ask a few questions or need some reassurance that everything would be okay.

The descriptions were good and it was easy for the readers to imagine the beginning and how the narrator experienced the pain and tried to make sense of what was happening to her, and later, the images of heaven. I think I noticed a couple of punctuation errors early on, but other than that, the story was polished and flowed very well. Overall, a great read!
