Thanks for entering! Interesting tale about a wizard and a girl who would one day become an apprentice to him. She had to go through terrible tragedy and loss to find her place alongside him.   The story was fast-paced and the fantasy theme strong and entertaining. I enjoyed the descriptions of the various dragons and why hers was shaped differently, it was well-trained and able to participate in the exams with his rider, competing against other dragons and their riders. The key to winning the competition was in consideration for a position as a Defender of Alveron. Good, solid storyline. Observations: *blockgray* There were a few spots that could have been tightened-up a bit, in the word economy. An example is the part describing her painful rebirth process. It could have just stated that she needed to be cleansed by fire in order to become whole again. You would have had more room for words to flesh out the characters, more.  Otherwise, well done!
