On Title/Subject
Intriguing title I associated first with swamps and monsters living in it, so I thought it would be a horror story. My mistake!! When finished reading it appeared to be the best title you could come up with for this enchanting fantasy.

General impressions
What a great story this is. It has the echo of Huckleberry Finn and Alice in Wonderland...not wanting to overdo this, but you are writing in the footprints of other great famous writers.

As an European I could just feel the American atmosphere in this tale. Your description of the house, the porch, the land...it all is very American to me and being a foreigner...I love that atmosphere.

The first half of your story is all description which I liked tremendously.

The dialogues were perfect and funny. Very realistic too. I totally believed the encounter with the bird.

Favorite Parts
Difficult to choose what I liked most but I suppose it must be the setting of your house in that landscape of swamp country.

The psyche of a lonely teenager captured in a story of over 1700 words and after starting to read this story I could not let it go.
