*CakeB* HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews*CakeP*

*BalloonR**ConfettiP*HI Simple Dykie. I am here with a review to celebrate you! *Star*

*Smile* What a suitable title for this moving poem with its sad theme. I could hear the lonesome echo in the hall, awaiting response. Alzheimers is effecting so many people these days. I recall my grandma had a bit of it near the end of her life.

The first verse is a wonderful overview of the relationship and the idea of "love" still there is potent, given the progress of the disease.

The poem is well constructed with a tight weave and true rhyme scheme that is pleasant to read. The images are vivid and I really felt the strong tone of loss and hope. I like being able to see into the poet's thoughts as he see the mother this way. The image of the "knife" and the plaintive "momma" line are so effective in revealing the loss and pain in a concrete way. And "something dies"--meaning perhaps the small hope she will know your name, has dramatic appeal as I imagine going each time to visit with a hope she will be better today---- the idealistic notion that a child , even grown, will not let go of. *Thumbsup*

I like the idea of holding to the knowing love and "soul" never die so somewhere she is still connecting with the poet. Profound. *Heart*

I think the punctuation served the piece. I wondered about the lines ending with no punctuation-- some could maybe use a comma if they connect to next line, or even a period eg. Like "last" and "mind" though perhaps the open space of not quite grounded to earth is the effect you want. *Wink*

Thanks for sharing this evocative and emotional tribute! Well done! *Starstruck*

Light on the path as you write on!!*Star*
