Why This Item?

I'm helping out an underdog team for GoT this year. Rather casually... but helping nonetheless. I saw your name on a to-review list and knew exactly what I wanted to review, so I chose you from said list. I'm an insomniac, and when I can't sleep, I tend to read about writing/publishing. Needless to say, I have raided your port top to bottom over the years.

I have stumbled across quite a few list poems in the past month or two that could have used the advice given here. I debated coming to find it for them and never quite got around to doing that. So... I came to your port specifically to find this item, add it to my favorites, and give it a review for good measure.

Favorite Aspects

"List poems are a real poetic form. Real poets write them!"

Encouraging people to think about poetry is always a plus too. It never ceases to amaze me that people expect perfect ratings and glowing reviews for slapping together a poem that is essentially a list of cliches. Kudos for pointing out that writing out a brainstorming session is not poetry.

"Present a query (direct or implied) in the title and answer it in each list item."

An solid suggestion. I wish more people would make use of the title for repetitions that clutter their poetry and add no progression... stagnant refrains drive me nuts.

The structural options list is excellent.

Effect

I can think of nothing to add to this. You're thorough as ever, and this is a good basic how-to. The length is appropriate to get people to read the entire guide without being overwhelmed too. So, as-is... it's great. You also leave it to the readers to look up terms if needed, in this and other how-to items. It's an approach that I appreciate. You respect people as intelligent and capable enough to learn about it themselves. I do just the opposite, which probably speaks volumes on my feelings about the average person's intelligence and capabilities. Working on that.
