"Game of Thrones"   by Gaby ~ Quiet contemplation

PLOT -
Poor Rose! Rose is not a fan of Halloween, hates it in fact. Year and years she spends this night with popcorn, junk food and a funny movie, making sure her porch is off so she won't be bothered by trick-or-treaters. On this night, everything for her will change.

SETTING -
I had a clear view of the scene as Rose moved from the den to the front door, expecting to find someone on the porch. The knocking that grew in intensity each time was described well too. Once the picture when flying the creepiness really began.

CHARACTERS -
Rose who loathes this holiday and holes up in the comfort of her home, hoping to pass the evening with a comedy. Her instincts to the call the police are spot on, and her fear is really. Unfortunately, things don't turn out well for her.

GRAMMAR/SPELLING/DIALOGUE -
Suddenly, an object came flying inher direction, something large and black.

The inner dialog of Rose as she became angry with the game of ding-dong-ditch was spot on. Even the kids who tormented her spoke the way I expected them to.

THOUGHTS -
Not your average prank on Halloween, by any means. Once Rose grabbed that knife I wondered how bad this night would go for her. The kids knowing she's hurt and running away leaving her there was a nice touch. Definitely not a happy ending. Good job setting up this story and grabbing the readers attention as we follow Rose through the story of the worst night of her life. I enjoyed it, and really felt bad for your character. Write on!
