Plot/story elements:

Did I feel attached to the story or poem?

I feel this piece speaks to the separation of ourselves due to being victim of our self-indulgences. Our inadvertent greed creates more cycles of disillusionment and disenfranchisement.

Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else?

I love sharing ideas that the systems we have built were predicated on injustices so yes, I would absolutely share this piece. I love how you parallel renters to being daytime bats. Much like the poor and vulnerable, they're world is upside down much of the time.

Was there a clear purpose to it?

I felt like I interpreted the purpose to be comparing the lives of the poverty stricken to the lives of the ones who take advantage of them. People in power do create the worlds for the rest of us to live in. Power differentials suck. Hierarchy sucks.

*StarStruck* Glows:

We're the underbelly of the city is a descriptive and powerful statement. It paints such a dirty and grimy picture. It is probably how landlords see their tennants to certain extent.

*Vine1* Grows:

What if you compared landlords to another animal. What is something that eats bats? Just wondering if that would be an interesting parallel for you to explore.
