Hi ANN Counselor, Lesbian & Happy ,

This review is a part of "Game of Thrones [13+]. *Smile*

Overall Impression:

This is a very powerful poem, dear Ann. It shows the damage that can be done to someone in the childhood and teenage years - a damage that can have its effects throughout someone's life.

Like you, I was the "responsible child", always striving to be real good, to please, desperate to make my parents proud of me (yet always feeling as though I was lacking, that I could never be good enough), and the "lost child", hiding away, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible. You are right that there can be triggers in life, bringing you back to that time, and you try not to show it, but people might notice. They might see that you're "not quite yourself", wonder at your responses to a situation. Indeed, I long for every child to have a loving, caring home.

On the technical side of things, this poem reads well. The construction of each line in connection with the other is impressive - connected yet containing its own message. It has a good rhythm and flow. I love your use of punctuation, as this helps guide the reader, and I love that you allow the capitalisation at the beginning of each line to depend upon the individual sentences within the piece.

Suggestions:

I have no suggestions, Ann. I could spot no errors, nor anything you can improve upon. This is a strong poem.

My Rating:

A powerful, well-written poem that made for a good read.

I didn't have any suggestions. Therefore, I will give this item the 5 out of 5 it deserves.

Thank you for sharing your work, and write on!
