A Review from "SIMPLY POSITIVE GROUP

Hello, Lexi ! I am Aqua and the following are only my personal opinions. Ultimately, you and only you can decide what works best for your item.

I was searching for something to review from your portfolio when this particular poem caught my attention. The title of your poem was like the last one and I wanted to know what kind of wounds were being talked about in your poem. The short description was perfect and intrigued the reader even more as she wanted to know who said what words that hurt her. Your short description also reminded me of "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" and how once in college, I gave a morning speech against this sentence, telling everyone how words can cause bruises and scars that will never be healed.

Just like the last poem, in a relationship and after the relationship ends, a person may still be trapped and imprisoned psychologically by the words, the actions of the other person. Your poem was very sad and emotional, as the reader imagined the wounds very fresh and yet very deep. Hurtful and abusive words, especially said by someone we love, can have a great negative impact on us and can bring more pain to us. Because we still love them, we bear it, tolerate and ignore the things they say but we cannot ignore that every single time and then it starts hitting us, wounding us slowly and painfully.

The flow of your poem was very good, there was no interruption and it flew out quite smoothly when I read it. The rhythm and the flow were enhanced by the presence of the consistent rhyming scheme used in your work. My favourite lines from your poem were

Sometimes I've pretended to be dreaming
with each stabbing that pierced my heart.

I’ve endured scrapes from your vicious claws
and the malice that your hands have thrown,
