Saxophones and Me [E] The gift of 2 saxophones, my love of them, and of the music I learned to make with them |
Greetings, Gwyneth! My name is Lady Cubbyella and I am one of the sly foxes from the House of Florent. Title: Saxaphones and Me First Impression: I have to tell you, I enjoyed this piece so much! It might not bring tears to every reader's eyes, but it did mine. Not only is this well-written, but told straight from an instrument-lover's heart! I could really connect with this piece because several years ago I asked my husband for a violin for Christmas. He actually bought me one, which shocked and thrilled me at the same time, but I was in awe of my new fiddle and couldn't stop staring at it, as you were with your saxophone. What needs your attention: I have absolutely no suggestions. Nicely written! What part I liked best: I loved how you began this: [...] my parents took a financial gamble, not in the stock market or anything as grand and relatively safe as that, but in me. This is such a great way to start the reader off! I also loved the way you ended it: [...]I sat gazing at my instrument, still too much in awe of it to play it just yet. I liked this ending because near the beginning, after you receive your used sax, you stare at it in awe, too. Loved it! Overall impression: I really connected with this and I'm so happy for you that you had parents who were able to get you involved with playing an instrument. I am also glad you didn't give up during those squeaks and squawks, as many would have. I've self-taught myself several instruments and have learned over the years, it just takes practice... lots of practice. And then suddenly, you've got it! It's a wonderful gift to be able to play AND have the patience and perserverance to continue. This is such a inspiring story! Thank you for allowing me to read your work. It has been my pleasure. Have a great day and... K e e p on W r i t i n g ! Cubby ") A "Simply Positive Review Forum " Review My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
