My Darling, My Muse [E] My entry for the contest Whispers of the Soul, Round 32! |
This is your local Simply Positive Reviewer, here! Your writing has been selected for review, as part of Simply Positive's mission to bring more light on Authors here at WDC! First Impressions: "My Darling, My Muse" is a poem that has a duality about it, a kind of two-sided world of loving - or being loved - and this writing plays that end up quite nicely here. I am reading the innocence within this poem, for we take to mind that the main persons within this poem have met at childhood, each one recalling certain things, forgetting perhaps many others. Overall Impact: I am left wondering here: is the love within this poem...is it a kind of eternal love? A love that is something that is wished for - but unrequited? We know that in the end, the person in the poem is calling out, and is aware that the object of their love cannot quite hear them, or sense them, or see them....or.... What? I am not sure. But then, we read the final line, and now know what it is after all. Errors: No mispellings found here in this poem. Summation: Sometimes love poems are not always perfectly well understood at the outset; this is perfectly normal, perfectly okay! Why? Who in this world understands love in its entirety? I know one thing. When someone calls out to me, and I cannot hear them, I think it is entirely possible that it is my Muse that is being called upon... What else could be so powerful, so creative...so lovely as this? Once again, thank you for providing me the opportunity to read and review for Simply Positive; this also has been written in affiliation with
