Cross Timbers Novel Workshop Application [E] IF publication is your goal, please fill out all fields on the CTNW application. |
Hello again, 🌷 Carol St.Ann 🌷 What I liked The New Novel Workshop Memebershp Application form supplied is clear cut. There's no ambiguity in either the rules or the questions asked. The required entrance fee and admission criteria ensure that only the correct calibre of wannabe authors apply. What might need work The Memebershp application form itself isn't very welcoming or encouraging, by which I mean it only stresses what the workshop wants from the applicant and offers nothing in return — few hints as to the advantages, which I'm certain are very extensive. The question about item type/title/genre makes it sound as though the applicant is submitting a novel to a publisher/agent rather than requesting admission to a critiquing circle. It also sounds like the applicant is only expected to have one bun in the oven, not a dozen potential projects. The same questions phrased in a more general way might sound more welcoming, so asking the title of the novel they're CURRENTLY editing, the GENRES they prefer to write in and a brief synopsis of the CURRENT WIP would maybe be more inviting. Oh, and spell the title of the document correctly instead of Memebershp. If you're offering help and advice with editing, it's not a great idea to have the very first thing the applicant sees include a typo like Memebershp. Thank you for sharing! Best wishes, Bob :D
