I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week" . Thanks for entering!

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

This wonderful 1st person story explores the fears of childhood past and the ones going on now passed down generationally. Shining a light on any monstrous entity is a comfort that all can share. Keeping the batteries fresh and the flashlight handy is a well regarded tradition for most Dads. There is a lot of love expressed between parent and children.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

I was particularly amused by what a slob the older brother was. I, too, suffered from a brother who liked to carry plates of food into his room and leave them there. Luckily, we didn't share a room but he was still untidy and gross at times.

This sentence was brilliant:

"Most of us keep our smaller selves hidden safely inside, looking out at the world, escaping in laughter at the oddest times. They are recalled by the sudden motion of a smile, by the prodding touch of memory or two."

I thought it was all really well written.
