What brought the Hand of THiNG to your port?

I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week" . Thanks for entering!

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

Your fine rhyming poem explores a puzzling monster under the bed. It is not clear whether this monster is a real person doing something bad or what to begin with.

The fact that the entity reemerges in adulthood is creepy and alarming about what went on when one was too little to defend oneself. A lot is left to the imagination about holding the feet down like that.

This gave me chills.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

This was the part that stuck with me:

"He sat up when I started to shake
and said " you shouldn't be afraid,
I won't hurt you I am just a bad dream".
Then he disappeared in the first sunbeam."

A child or even an adult would rightly be frightened and appalled by such a situation in one's own home where growing up occurred. Shining a light on such a horror isn't easy to do, even after all those years.
