What brought the Hand of THiNG to your port?

I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp" . Thanks for entering and I would like to wave a warm welcome to the site!

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

This fine rhyming poem speaks of taking charge of one's fears from the thing that has caused anxiety for many years under the bed. I especially admire the notion of taking control of what one fears.

The reference to the wearing nothing but a "midnight black thread" seemed ominous to me and you manage to be very scary without being explicit about what is going on there. Sometimes it is more alarming to suggest what might be happening rather than spell it out.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

I particularly liked this part:

"Your message carries nothing but sorrow
And piles as high as Kilimanjaro.
Be gone you black ghost!
I'll no longer be your host!"

This conveys the message that the childhood fears are long past and it is time to move along with life. That is always a great message to impart when speaking of irrational and rational fears of youth.
