Oh god, this is just brilliantly British. I think one of the things I've looked for most in judging these entries is a piece that gives me a feel for that country. Your style is on point. I swear, even if I hadn't been told that this was Great Britain's essay entry, I would still know that this was Great Britain's essay entry.

I love the rambling tone of this personal essay. The humor had me laughing the whole time. Some of my favorite lines:

I ate my greens! Maybe I ate them slowly, just to tease the dog!

I tended to be guided by majority points of view. Hell, I bought a Ford car!

You clearly have a ton of wit. I loved the "Many hands make light work" VS "Too many cooks spoil the broth" bit.

Definitely my favorite part was the remarks on the majority rule because that is what the prompt was about, and while you may have gotten sidetracked at times, it always came back to that. Whether it's the majority telling you that seventy is the new fifty or that ISIS is the apocalypse, you knock them down a notch on every point. I thought you were so right by saying that the point of the majority is: If it's going to happen, it's going to happen to me... The majority responds to fear-mongering very well and that's why we see politicians who run solely on that rhetoric.

The essay wasn't perfect. There were a couple typos (See: "Speaking as a someone who breeds sheep..."), but it was sound for the most part and didn't distract much from the bottom line. The closing paragraph definitely tied your thoughts together well and it was an entertaining read. Thanks for the good times.
