Irish Folk Song [E] Written for Irish the morning of his funeral. |
What a sweet Irish Folk song to fill the spirit with beautiful thoughts from the heart sent to one who will no longer be with the one who loves him so. But she awaits the song to be heard again, calling her to him, for he has already traveled life's trip, and she can no longer be a part of it. That is what I gleaned from this -- a sort of farewell song of love and loss. There is a bitter sweetness to the song, for the reader feels the intertwining of a melancholy tune, yet one where there is hope of a reunion one day soon. Nicely penned, and makes a reader think, for if this is a funeral song, it touches the hearts of those who can relate to the chords of this song. Well done. I think if there was one spot that seemed to throw the rhythm off a tad was repeating the title in the last line. It probably is supposed to be there as some sort of refrain, but it doesn't blend rhythmically with flow of the previous lines. Or perhaps just my interpretation of it. Okay, that's all I got to say, because the rest of it was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. And that ain't no blarney. Thank you for the lovely Trinket treat following the poetic verses. Well done! Until next time--write on! Regards, WebWitch My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
