First Impressions: "Invalid Item"  is oe of those catchy limericks (Oh aye!) that makes a sudden entrance, gives us five hilarious lines...and then...sadly...leaves.

In all honestly, I really enjoy both camping AND limericks, and this felt like a wonderful poem that only fell short in the "Brevity Category". Gosh, it was simply too short, and with the author's obvious talent to write along these lines, naturally I hungered for much more. Much, much more!



Overall Impact: You know all the fun games we used to play when our parents took us camping? How we read the License Plate game, whereby you had to think up a mini-sentence that had to make sense if a plate went by the windows with three consecutive letters on it.

In other words, if a South Carolina plate drive past you, and the first three letters read something like this..." G B C 897", the sooner you said "Good Bye Charlie!", the sooner you had a chance to win. I think we competed for things like Marvel comic books (my favorite was the Silver Surfer), baseball cards in waxpacks (with the stick of bubble gum in the back of the package) or just candy straight up. Mother was exceptionally good at rationing out the sugars, for who could control three of us growing boys inside a station wagon doing 90 on....well...I-90?!?



Errors: No obvious errors made here....



Summation: Camping is something that people either LOVE to do...or HATE doing. I have yet to meet someone who thought it was "okay". I myself love the complete fresh air that camping gives us every time we head out for the woods or seashore. Heaven knows, limericks like these bring back major memories of childhood, whereby once my parents took us from the Atlantic Ocean, to the Pacific Ocean and back again....in 30+ days.

Did I mention that when we pulled into the driveway upon returning ... that my parent's hair had turned pure white?!? *Crazy*
