I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week" . Thanks for entering!

What Does THiNG think about while perusing your item?

You have crafted an imaginative tale about a descendant who inherits the effects of a curse. Until the death of his father there is not a pressing need for him to know about what has been passed down from generation to generation. The mother seems to have full knowledge of what is going on, but is reluctant to pass on the wisdom to her son. Because of circumstances beyond her control, she is forced to do that now.

What does THiNG applaud about while reading your item?

I think you did an excellent job with the prompt and of making this curse that is handed down seem real, but not insurmountable. I get the distinct impression that faith and love can somehow move beyond what is foretold for the descendants of those who did the wrong against the Cherokee people.

Very imaginative and intriguing story! Well done!
