This is a positive, inspiring poem about gaining strength through determination and perseverance. Your second line about developing a lifestyle dedicated to yourself is important as you have to take care of yourself first in order to be strong for others. This is very different to being selfish.

It's important to put the message out there that dreams can be realised ('satisfied' to use your term) despite life's hardships. Your poem does this effectively and your words flow well.
