Thanks for entering!  I love what you did with the picture prompt. Your interpretation was a wonderful journey within the mind's eyes and it also had a lovely philosophical tug to it, that makes a reader stop and think about the times they've been at one of life's crossroads, and took an unexpected turn for peace of mind. Following one's heart makes for many more right decisions in life than wrong. I like that we get to experience his thoughts along with the bad weather, the impending feel of doom as he walks toward the big city and the feeling of loss as he thinks about what he left behind.  In this case he realized making more money, but giving up everything he believes in would be selling himself out along with his art. Observation: "Perhaps the financial recompense would be less in the village, but perhaps not. I considered that perhaps the value of my art, my music, and by extension, myself, at least for me," Repeat of "perhaps" three times within two consecutive sentences is a little distracting, and not necessary to make the point. Well done, good use of photo prompt, and it paints very clear images in the reader's mind. Good luck with the contest, and again, thanks for entering!
