Greetings, Survivor48

This is your local Simply Positive Reviewer, here! Your writing has been selected for review, as part of Simply Positive's mission to bring more light on Authors here at WDC!

First Impressions: "Invalid Item is a fine poem, written in free-style form, given to the fact that as a writer, this author speaks to many things in Life that are challenging in the greatest, deepest sense. I have found myself reviewing numerous poems by this writer, as much for inspiration as well as for the joy of reading the words as well as seeing that we both are kindred spirits in our perspectives on life in general....

Overall Impact: "Invalid Item is a testament to the fact that Life hands out challenges to us in chaotic form....usually. Ever see a problem on its way? If so, how much time did you have to anticipate it? If you had the time, did you prepare? This poem reminds me of those days when so much was unpredictable, that it was possible for troubles to arrive from many different directions, some seen....some not.

But it was how one dealt with those problems that made all the difference.

Errors: None seen in this work at this time.

Summation: I really liked this poem, meaning....I identified with it on many different levels, could relate to this as being relevant in my life and times. I can SEE the wherewithal the author uses to make his many points, and how fighting back against things that are adversarial simply require more than a little effort on our behalf.

IN order to win, we must perservere. Perseverance is a quality, I think, that we hold closest to our vest: in fact, the more I hear of someone boast how tough he is, I rarely ask them to let me know personally just how tough they are....I will simply take a good look at their past, and discover the battles they've already fought. Win some, lose some might be a better way to see how well we do in our lifetimes. People who are more quiet, less likely to boast of their troubles and their victories remind me of those very same people who have fought great battles....and survived. THAT I think is the KEY to reading and understanding this work. The author specializes in what I term "survival poetry", something that is not a genre (just yet!) but is nevertheless recognized as universal. Do you know of any single person who never had to struggle in life? If you say that there is so-and-so who had oodles of money and never had to fight for anything, I promise you ...you are incorrect in that assumption. In fact, people who are gifted huge sums of money simply by being born often have complexes and self-doubt that are beyond belief...and why? Because they never had the chance to prove (to themselves) what their weaknesses truly were in this world.

So once again, I really enjoyed this work. It inspires. And reminds me of the neighborhood from which I came from......

KEEP ON WRITING!!!!!!!!!!! *Bigsmile*
