First Impressions: "Tears Are Waiting In the Wings is a poerful, powerful poem. A triumph of love over a most dread disease: for those of us who have had to watch a loved one slowly lose their life to cancer, this poem clearly spells out for us the situation at hand. It is difficult. It is wearying. It is persistent. And frightening as well.

"Tears Are Waiting In the Wings is a poem written by a loving Mother who, presiding over her daughter during her final battles, wrote this moving poem in her honor; it is with profound love that we read the very realism of this work, for there can be no other way to read this in the true sense of the word.

It has been said that no Mother should ever have to bury her child: the sadness unspeakable flowing from this poem speaks for itself.

It is whether we, the readers, have the courage to wade in and feel what this feels like is what is key to remember.

I myself do. It is an experience I will never forget....

Overall Impact: This poem reminds me of a book entitled, "Death be Not Proud", by John Donne. Within its pages there is so much feeling of loss, feelings of extraordinary tension saddled onto the overall sadness of the situation. And it is left indelibly upon our minds this very message of great sadness just the same. We are left to feel hollow within our very soul, our very being. Not everyone can fight the good fight of faith, but for a child looking askance from a parent at their bedside, it takes phenomenal strength and love to fight Death together.

And yet.....Love always wins in the end....

Errors: No mistakes seen here in this poem today.

Summation: Love always DOES win in the end, for we seek to give to God what is God's, and allow ourselves to be awashed in the vast oceans of sorrow and tears as we gather a mere inkling of how this author felt at the loss of her beautiful daughter. To this, I must say ....we all shall meet again, in some place and in a place of "joy unspeakable" as St. Paul so eloquently writes.

In my heart of hearts, I send prayers to this writer, knowing full well that the agony of loss will someday....someday....turn to greater joy with the passage of time. *Heart*
