*BalloonR* Welcome to WDC from "Newbie Welcome Wagon! *BalloonR*

I am reviewing this as part of my weekly "I Write in December-January-Februarychallenge. Coming from Pagan traditions, I found this to be pretty accurate when describing Yule traditions. There are a few things that you could have added though, such as the evolved tradition of the Yule log.

Overall, this is written quite well. Admittedly, I am no expert on grammar and make plenty of grammar errors in my own writing, but I did recognize a few errors in comma usage and sentence structure.

"While I celebrate Christmas in the sense of giving gifts, decorating a tree and honoring my family and loved ones with a shared time together there are many ways that people don't realize how it's come to be."

This sentence is a little redundant with the overuse of "and". It could use some revising. Below is a suggestion.

My own Christmas traditions include decorating a tree, gift giving, and time with loved ones. Though many people who share these same traditions lack understanding on where these traditions came from.

"The tidings of Yule, are passed down for generations and years of culture and history. But a lot of people always ask, What is Yule?"

Suggested correction:

"Yule traditions are passed down from generations of culture and history. Still, a lot of people lack understanding of what Yule actually is."

You are very correct about how and when Yule was celebrated. Though I due think the Yule log tradition holds great significance and should be added. In addition you make mention of the belief in the Gods and Goddesses. Of course depending on which Pagan tradition an individual follows, the Gods and Goddesses celebrated would be different.

Another aspect that you may want to add is that in a way Yule was a celebration of the living and mourn the dead. Think back in what you know of history. Winters were often harsh and many people died. It is said that when the holy Roman Catholic Church came about, of all the Pagan holidays, they could not stop people from celebrating Yule. The result was to say that it was a celebration of Christs birth when he was not born in December.

This was an enjoyable read. Thank you for sharing your perspective and a little history. Remember, the opinions expressed here are from only one person. It is up to you, the writer, to determine which advice to take. Hopefully my thoughts on your writing have been helpful.
