Hi Prosperous Snow celebrating .
My name is Carly and I am doing this review on behalf of "Gang's Monthly Review Board [13+] and "I Write in December-January-February [E]
I have just read your short piece "Invalid Item, which I found when I posted my week#5 entry to the I Write contest and wanted to share my thoughts with you. Please remember that I am not a professional and my opinions and thoughts are only meant to help you. Take what you can use and disregard anything you do not feel suits you. Please keep in mind this is only my opinion. The piece is ultimately yours and that must be honoured.

Overall Impressions:
Ohhhh. Talk about new beginnings. I was held - wanting to know what would happen. So much packed into a few words. It had a twist for me. I thought she was going to do herself in, and then realized it was her husband that she was killing.

Characters:
Alisha - an unhappy wife who wants a complete new beginning.
George - her husband, who comes to untimely end

Setting:
Just after midnight at New Years. In an unhappy home.

Plot:
Alisha wants a new beginning... not just a new year, but a clean break from her unhappy marriage.
The pacing is good. I was held transfixed. Wanting to know what she was going to do.

Favourite Part:
This piece has a twist. I thought she was going to do herself in and then I realize she is setting out to kill her husband.

Suggestions:
"carried it to the microwave setting on the left..." I think the setting should be sitting.
I see no spelling errors.

Additional Comments:
Good luck in the contest. I do wish you the best in 2017 and hope it is much happier than your characters. This piece is a little eerie. Good, but eerie.

I enjoyed reading your work. Thank you for sharing it. I hope my review was helpful and encouraging!
