Wow! This is a striking tribute to those who fought at Normandy and the two last lines are potent. I agree I would not wanted to have been them in that time and place for sure.

Your episode is short and you get into what the soldiers must have thought. The idea of "mouth of Hell" and no choice but the ordered one are strong images. The idea they were "brothers" hit its mark too. They were all in this together and had to trust each other.

I noticed a typo in line "they had was no choice" seemed odd to me. I don't think you need the word "was" in there. The idea that duty "competed with death" as the worst thing is so moving and really shows their committment.
