Overall: Ah, a Dear Me letter! I'm glad you took the time to write yourself an encouraging note for 2017. It's such a small gesture, but I'm sure it was incredibly useful in helping you focus on areas of improvement for the year.


Praise: I especially liked the part where you decided to make YOU a priority. Too few people do that, unfortunately. You're right, it's equally important to care for yourself and I hope you succeed at achieving that, if nothing else, by the end of 2017.

By the way, I'm sorry to hear that 2016 was rough. I'm glad you've chosen to look forward and focus on the positives instead. Wounds may take time to heal but that's no reason to stop improving yourself, right?


Comments: Do you realise you have a one-sentence paragraph in the middle of your letter? I'm not sure if it's an oversight or a deliberate move. Either way, I thought I'd point it out to you, as it doesn't fit into the overall structure of your letter, and seems rather out of place.

Perhaps you might want to expand that paragraph or just place that particular sentence in another relevant paragraph within your letter.


Conclusion: I hope that you keep referring to this letter all through 2017 and hold yourself accountable to what you've written; so that by the end of the year, you'll be able to look back with satisfaction on all you've achieved. All the best -- I hope you have a great year ahead of you!
