What brought Hoovsie meandering in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Cow* You sent me a very nice review of one of my deep thinking items, so here I am in your portfolio sending you a review. I didn't always reciprocate as well as I do now. I make it one of my goals in coming here. I figure if I can't manage to return a review I'm focusing on me too much anyway.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I do think that reviews are what makes this site work.

One of the big cheese leaders of the site recently told me that my reviews were not worth as much as fund raising. Apparently, I missed the boat in realizing that the goal here is about money-raising for groups.

I was told that my review efforts were meaningless. That, of course, made me very angry. So, then it ended badly between me and this particular big cheese.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup* I think that you are on to the key to everything. Find what you enjoy and set out enjoying it. Don't worry about what anyone else does. We all have our opinions. We cannot all be right, but we can be right for ourselves.

That is where I landed recently. I blocked the person I was upset with and went about the business of figuring out what it is that I enjoy. As a big financial supporter here (at least I suspect I have been) I was insulted that someone would suggest that fund raising was more important than reviewing and even writing in general. It's funny how being told that I was meaningless had a detrimental effect on my funds being raised. Some might even call that a bit of poetic justice or (gasp) irony.

But now I know better. Nothing really makes sense unless we pay it forward in our own way. So, like you, I find what I enjoy and find a way to use it in a positive way most of the time. And those who would crow about all the funds they raise can eat my dust.

Know what I mean? It's made me a lot more judicious about some of the money I spend so I supposed I should thank the big cheese head some day. Maybe.

If I send a review, it means I enjoyed my reading experience enough to let you know it. I look at a review as my reaction to what I have read and a sharing of what I bring to the table on any given day. Sometimes I don't bring much, but I enjoy my reading adventures either way.
