The story is nice to read. It makes us think about the girl and her prince. She initially does not believe her, but goes on to the ball with him. The witch controls her actions. Her killing and murder of the prince makes us think about her intentions. She is herself baffled by the murder. The clock strikes twelve at the end. The story is shocking and appalling. It makes us wonder why the girl was under the influence of the witch and why the murder occurred. This is especially true when she loved the prince.
