The poem is nice to read. The Jack-o-Lanterns are one of the symbols of Halloween. Halloween is an invitation for ghosts and spirits. Lanterns and pumpkins with candles are lit to welcome the spirits. The last lines of Jack-o-Lanterns turning to squishy squash has to be replaced with those for pumpkins. The poem makes us think of how ghosts and spirits are entities we fear and have a feeling of spookiness to them. They never turn up for the Halloween. The treats are there for the ghosts. The poetry makes us think about Halloween and the joy it brings to us.
