"Game of Thrones"   by Gaby ~ Quiet contemplation

OVERALL IMPRESSION -
You did a fantastic job pulling your reader right into the drama that was unfolding. I could picture the entire scene as it unfolded. From the torrential rain to the mother and child in the vehicle being swept away, to finding the mother and eventually the child with the aid of her cries and the search dog at the ready. I know these things do happen, but they are scary to read about, even in a short story.

WHAT I LIKED BEST -
The detailed descriptions made this a really good read. From the police perspective, nothing about this looked promising, yet they witnessed one miracle and then another. You really let it show that law enforcement experiences tremendous things on a daily basis. There were tension and drama, and then hope before they were dashed by the revelation that the car seat had been swept away by the rising waters. Then hope came back as the child was found still in their car seat. A tension-filled story with a happy ending.

PLOT~
One officer heads off to find help aid in the search of a missing person. The onslaught of rain becomes a hindrance to the search efforts as flood waters take over everything in its path.

TECHNICAL~
