Purpose and Audience
Anyone who is into sports and in this case, the NFL. You hit your target audience well.

Consistency and Cohesiveness
You included enough information to get a reaction out of your reader. It was easy to follow and understand, though this subject will be a hard pill to swallow for a lot of people. Any players strike is always bad.

Mechanics
It was a clean article.

Personal Response
I remember the NHL's player strike and because half of the season was over, I found other things to occupy that time. I never became a regular watcher of my favorite sport again. I don't know if the NHL will have the same problems that the NHL did. There are a lot of die hard fans in the United States that I think will wait it out, probably not too happy, but they will still get the viewers needed. NFL players get paid an insane amount of money. I am in agreement with the NFL standards because so many young people idolize these football stars. Some do set a bad example and if they want to continue to be part of this huge franchise, I don't think it's too much to ask that they are held to a higher standard. I think you're right that this will get ugly. There are definitely two sides to this issue and hopefully, they will come to an agreement before 2021.
