I'm not sure exactly how to review this. I've read it twice and it breaks my heart. Each verse was soaked to the core with heart ache and sorrow.

Your first verse got my attention. I thought you were writing about hurricane Irma at first. Then I got to the next verse.

The second verse was confusing. I can understand the being alone and afraid, but the deep night shadows threw me. Life can be difficult but I just don't understand that little part.

You say in the last verse that you will go on. You accept the being alone and there is a faint hint of hope in the last two lines. The poem still left me sad. You did well to draw out feelings of the reader. Thanks for sharing.
