*CakeB* HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews*CakeP*

What brought HOOves to meander and glide in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Balloonr*I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp. Thanks for entering! *Delight*

I am reading and reviewing your item at 8:30AM, WDC time, and storing it in my review tool for later delivery, after the contest winners are announced. As per the contest rules, no subsequent revisions or edits were considered in writing this review.

This is done so that I can give the next prompt at noon and announce the winner as close to that time as possible. I also like to send out reviews to all the entrants when time permits, so it gives me the morning to do that, also.

What does HOOves think about and contemplate while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* Your protagonist, Crom, gets a message from his mother. He must fight a good fight and then his mother's spirit will be free. I felt like I got to know him and see inside his soul. Your story is brief, but you pack a lot of character exposition and action into it.

What does HOOves applaud and moo about while reading your item?

I love the descriptions and the character revelations in this fine story. Your title is excellent. Crom is on a passage to loving his mother enough to do what is needed to be done and then setting her on her journey to a better place.

This reads like it could be expanded into a longer story, perhaps of Crom's life journey. It seems like he is well on his way as an admirable character with lots of bravery and skills.

It brought a tear to my eye. In the end Crom learns the ultimate lesson in loving his mother. She wants the best for him and he knows that. He must learn to love her enough to let her go. We all make a similar journey, but his is full of heroism and love from mother to son and back again.

This wonderful story touched my heart. You engaged my emotions as a reader, as well as my brain. Reading is an event of the imagination and creativity too, when the writing is so well done! I admire characters so much who do for others, unselfishly expending great effort to attain something for someone else is so genuine and such a caring thing. You soared with this prompt. Absolutely soared!

The Writer's Cramp is a great way to meet other writers (by reviewing their entries) and to get your work read. Also, many Newsletter items featured and Quill entries have originated from experienced writers who regularly read in "The Writer's Cramp. Whether you win or not on a particular day, rest assured that your item will be read by those on this site who enjoy reading for its own sake.

P.S. I am someone who loves to read and review. That is a pretty simple statement and it is true, in the spirit of Ernest Hemingway, who once said, "Write one true thing."
