I had just read your poem and it's so true what it said. My grandfather fought in WW2 and it was in 1944 when he went to New Guinea and he was in the war for a few years and he did write letters to my grandmother and I have the letters my grandfather wrote when he was over there. In 1944 that fall or 1945, he went to the Philippines and he stayed there till the end of the war. He came home December of 1945 and I could imagine my grandmother was happy to him. They were married in 1946 the following year. Thank you for showing your support to the veterans who fought in World War 2.
