What brought Hoovsie meandering in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Cow*I am reviewing your story as a judge for "Quotation Inspiration: Official Contest. Thanks for entering!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* The setting is a high school reunion. That conjures up a horror all its own, going back to high school and being judged according to standards held dear by those who never stepped outside of their comfort zones. Then there is the fact that after high school, you realize there is a level of intelligence that adheres to the herd mentality and then there is the big, wide world out there. The Internet has opened that up even more. People, in the real world outside of the popularity contests that are high school, actually think for themselves.

Even if you write something and attain moderate success, there are those who are threatened by the notion of "writing" as a way to make a living. This may stem from a fear (not so irrational) of being used in a famous writer's literature. So, to actually allow people to know about a talent for writing is a brave thing to do. It's akin to announcing to a room full of people that one is an "attorney" or a "doctor", definitely not comfortable for the one doing the defending. And that's what it is - putting a life on defense for a crowd. *Shudder*

Our protagonist, Ben, struggles with the journey back in time to a narrow minded view of the world and he is fighting his own demons. It is with effort and stoic intent, that he moves forward and conquers the day.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I like how Ben is rewarded with a positive outcome after enduring the hades that is having one's life dissected by aging high school-ers.

He is out there trying while they are snickering and giggling about his choices. It turns out that the joke is on them. I with this would always be the outcome, but sometimes it takes more time to see the big picture. I attended one of these things as a spouse of one of the popular kids. I did a lot of observing and it wasn't pretty, but I play my own cards very close. You have captured the mood quite well.

Making a Difference One Review at a Time in 2019! My reviews tend to be my reactions to the writing and that is certainly the case, here. I am not much for a detailed critique as I don't enjoy that sort of thing. I let you know my emotional and/or intellectual response to what I have read and enjoyed. *Cow**Balloons**Type*
