Hi, Adrienne.
This is a nice poem, and I'm so glad you managed to beat this beast. Sadly, not a lot of people can say that.
Cancer runs in my own family, but so far I think I'm clean ('so far' being the operative words here). I'm almost 54 though, and I haven't been to a doctor in years, so it wouldn't surprise me if I had some form of it though. So maybe seeing this piece of yours will inspire to go get checked out.
As I said, this is a nice poem about what you went through and how you overcame it. It's nice a simple, yet it still let's us know what you went through.
Isolation? Really? I haven't heard of that.
