Hi there, Byron.
This is a sobering (pun intended) piece about what alcohol can do to some people, and you did a nice job of telling it. The strange thing is that I'm sure something like this has actually happened before.
Alcoholism runs in my own family, and although I haven't lost anybody close to me, alcohol has had some affects on my life. I've been in rehab a couple of times, which helped me a lot. I can't say I've quit, but I've cut down enough to know I still have a problem. I rarely drink now, and that's usually once or twice a month.
Great job with this, Byron. The spelling and grammar were flawless, and that ending couldn't have been any better!
