*BalloonR* Welcome to WDC from "Newbie Welcome Wagon! *BalloonR*

Buenos dias, Joshua!
This is kind of an odd piece to post as your first one on here, but I thought it was great! It sure beats reading the “My boyfriend left me and I don’t know what I’m going to do’ pieces so many other Newbies post on here!
To say that you’ve glamorized a simple Mexican food staple here in America would be an understatement, but you’ve done it quite well with this piece. And you’ve even given all the reasons to support your opinion! AND…you did it in a humorous way!
Bravo!
I’ve eaten and loved Mexican and Italian food all my life, but when it comes to an inexpensive meal that I can create to my own liking, I completely agree that the taco reigns supreme.
I once said if I ever worked at a fast food chain, it would have to be Taco Bell. Well, there was a time in my life when I needed a job, and lo and behold, a Taco Bell was just opening in my hometown. I worked there for about 8 months as a deep fryer and a cashier, and worked at another one for 10 months, also a deep fryer. I’ll say this, though: there’s a huge difference between eating Taco Bell food and cooking Taco Bell food. The management sucked at both places I worked at, as well as the working conditions and hours, and they were both barely up to health code.
Don’t get me wrong; I still love Taco Bell food and still eat there, but I will never work there again! Which is why I now refer to them as ‘Taco Hell’!
You made a good point about the ‘uppity’ chains, which I rarely, if at all, patronize. A simple taco with the basic ingredients (AND sour cream!) is enough for me, so why would I dish out more money for something I don’t need or want?
Great piece, Joshua! The spelling and grammar was flawless (thank you!), and the whole article read professionally! You obviously have some writing background, and I look forward to reading more of your items!
‘Consuming a taco is like indulging in autoerotic asphyxiation’? *Rolling*
Kee ponw ritin gon, thanks for the laughs, and welcome to WdC!
